Kinam Kim is the president of National Academy of Engineering of Korea (NAEK).
Kinam Kim is the president of National Academy of Engineering of Korea (NAEK).
Prior to his current role, Kim served as CEO and Vice Chairman of Samsung Electronics and Head of Samsung Electronics Device Solutions Division. In these roles, he was responsible for the company’s global semiconductor businesses, operations, research and engineering for the Memory, System LSI and Foundry businesses.
Kim is globally recognized as a world leader in semiconductors with over 40 years of industry experience. He has spearheaded innovation in research and engineering to continue growing the industry. Many of the world’s first technologies developed under his leadership.
His contributions and legacy in semiconductor over the past decades have catalysed South Korea’s status as a global technology powerhouse and rapid economic growth to be world’s 10th largest economy.
As chairman of NAEK, Kim great efforts to foster future generations of engineers and scientists.
