Doh-Yeon Kim

Professor emeritus, Seoul National University.

Dr. Doh-Yeon Kim is currently a professor emeritus of Seoul National University. He is a Fellow of the Amer. Ceram. Soc. and worked as a Principal Editor of the Journal of Mater. Research.


Dr. Doh-Yeon Kim is currently a professor emeritus of Seoul National University. He got his BE and ME from Seoul National University and KAIST, respectively, and Dr. Ing. from Univ. de Blaise Pascal, France in 1979. In 1982, he joined as a professor of Seoul National University and worked up to 2008. He served as a dean of college of engineering. His major research was on the microstructural evolution of materials, and he published ~200 research papers on this subject. Since then, he moved to work for Korean government as a minister of education and science and technology and a chairman of national science and technology council. He also worked as a president of University of Ulsan from 2008 to 2011, and POSTECH (Pohang University of Science and Technology) from 2015 to 2019. He is a Fellow of the Amer. Ceram. Soc. and worked as a Principal Editor of the Journal of Mater. Research.
